My name is Jimmy Duran. Many people also know me as Jimmy “Sincerely” Duran
First and foremost, I give all honor and glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for my salvation as well as for the privilege to serve Him through the Evangelism and Music Ministry that I have been called to. Secondly, I thank you for your interest in this ministry and invite you to review all the information that has been posted on this site. Here’s a little summary of my testimony.
I was born and raised in a place called Happy Valley in Los Angeles, CA.
Like many areas in and around Los Angeles, Happy Valley was a challenging place for a kid to grow up in. Even so, I got through, and survived my early years until I got to high school. I attended Abraham Lincoln High School until my junior year and then moved to the San Gabriel Valley Area where I started my senior year. This is significant because it was at this point that I started getting into more trouble than I would have ever imagined possible.
The details of my story are not unique or special to someone growing up in this area or other Barrio areas around LA. Suffice to say that the road that I chose took me to situations and places that I regret having gone, but I am blessed today for having survived through the Grace of God. Through His Grace and Mercy, I consider myself a living miracle. Through the situations and my experiences since high school, I could have easily been dead or in prison for the life I lived and the poor choices I've made in the past. Those poor choices resulted in facing life sentences on two occasions in my life. I give all Praise and Glory to God for saving my life and giving me strength to stop doing what I couldn't stop doing on my own.
It's True... "He whom the Son sets free, is Free indeed!" This is why I now love to sing and Praise JESUS for who He is and what He did in my life!
I am often asked how it happened that I am called Jimmy “Sincerely” Duran. In case you don’t know, and are interested, I picked up the “Sincerely” part of my name as a nickname because of a special Doo Wop Song that I sing called “Sincerely.” I started singing it for the Lord, and before you know it, starting with Evangelist Art Blajos, I was tagged with the name "Sincerely.” The way that happened was that after hearing me sing the song, Brother Art started calling me “Brother Sincerely”, and it stuck! I love this name because I really do SINCERELY LOVE JESUS!
With regard to the music, many of the songs that I sing include songs where the words have been changed for a specific reason. Once the words may have been about being hurt and confused; but now the words give God all the Praise and Glory that I feel in my heart for Him. I pray that they minister to anyone that hears them. For many years, many people have asked me to record a CD, but because I thought that others might think that I did it for myself, or they might think that I was full of myself, I waited for some time on the CD. The truth is that I wanted to, and probably should have. Because of my reluctance, I lost out on blessings and sat on the gift God had given me. God kept opening the doors and I kept closing them, but once I learned and put on the cloak of humility, and how this piece fit into the puzzle, I surrendered and released my first CD: "Sincerely LORD JESUS”
On a personal note, I am very happily married to a wonderful woman and we share our life with our children, grand-children and our church family.
On a ministry note, I thank and praise God for leading me to Victory Outreach Ministries and for raising me in the Ministry of the Victory Outreach Mother Church! I love my Pastors Sonny Jr. & Sister Kim Arguinzoni, as well as all of our elders and ministry leadership.
